Varying from compact mounds to stately border plants, Dicentra prefer full sun and well drained but moisture retentive soil. Dicentra make compact mounds of foliage with fragrant flowers. The Hearts variety Valentine has stolen our heart with its attractive foliage and red and white flowers. The Hearts series were bred in Japan by Mr. Shiozaki.
